OVERVIEW:

Mirror is looking for a visionary and concept-driven Senior 3D Designer (with some 2D capabilities) to design immersive, branded environments across diverse industries. You’ll lead spatial storytelling from pitch to production with a sharp eye for aesthetics, form, and cultural relevance. We’re looking for someone who’s not just a designer—but a visual thinker who knows what’s now and what’s next. You regularly seek inspiration from design outlets, trend reports, and cultural sources, and know how to translate that into work that feels elevated, thoughtful, and on the pulse. You’ll collaborate closely with our Accounts, Build, and Graphic Design teams to transform creative briefs into compelling physical spaces that connect with audiences and align with brand goals. An understanding of fabrication and materials is essential.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead early-stage concepting through research, trend exploration, brainstorming, and moodboarding

  • Develop high-quality 3D models and renderings that communicate spatial vision and style

  • Design immersive spatial experiences—including floor plans, scenic elements, interactive touchpoints, photo moments, and product displays

  • Source furniture, props, and materials aligned with creative direction and brand guidelines

  • Apply basic graphic design skills to lay out simple treatments and prep files for print

  • Collaborate with print production and fabrication teams; understand material costs and budget implications

  • Work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines while staying organized and detailoriented

  • Take ownership of your work with a proactive, self-starting attitude

  • Communicate clearly and collaborate seamlessly across teams

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in 3D/environmental/spatial design

  • A strong design point of view and visual instincts grounded in cultural awareness

  • Mastery of SketchUp and rendering plug-ins (e.g. Podium, V-Ray)

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; After Effects a plus)

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Must be based in or near NYC
